Medical Scheduler

The position available is for medical scheduler in our medical-legal practice. The main office is located in Oakland,California.

 

Essential:

 Prior knowledge of Worker?s Compensation evaluations is preferred. Knowledge of modern office equipment including multiple line telephones, fax/copy machine and postage machine. Knowledge of or ability to quickly adapt to various software programs. Ability to type 45 words (accuracy rate) per minute. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Must display effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to provide accurate and complete documentation.

Essential Job Functions

 

Provide appropriate information regarding Clinicians?schedules to callers (referral sources and patients).

 

Triage non-scheduling calls to appropriate departments, e.g., Marketing, Medical Records, Bookkeeping, and Front Office.

 

Schedule medical-legal appointments, including but not limited to evaluations, medical consultations, phone conferences, depositions and court testimony, completing all data fields as required in the Scheduling Database and disclosing appropriate appointment policy and procedure to callers.

 

Communicate designated scheduling information to appropriate departments via Phone Slip and/or electronic mail in a timely fashion.

 

Communicate with Clinicians in an effective and timely manner via the appropriate means such as telephone, fax, e-mail or in some cases personally. This applies but is not limited to information regarding their schedule changes, conflicts and/or referral needs.

 

Maintain the Clinician Schedule (which shows each office location and which clinician is in each office each day) in WordPerfect.

 

Responsible for checking and responding to all e-mails.
