About the Opportunity

 

Claims Management Specialist (CMS) ~ Rockford IL Territory (Rockford IL, Chicago IL, Madison WI) 

Selective Insurance is seeking a field claims professional to manage all aspects of multi-line claims generated by an assigned group of agents within specified limits of authority.  It is the responsibility of the individual in this role to ensure positive and effective relationships with all assigned agents. This is a field-based (work from home) position which reports to our Mid-America Regional Office (located in Columbus OH) to serve our IL Territory (consisting of Rockford, Chicago, Madison).  Successful candidate must live in the assigned territory, in / around the territory.



 

Some essential duties of this position are as follows:Handle all aspects of multi-line claims within that territory. Promote positive and effective relationships with all assigned agents. Determine appropriate methods and extent of needed investigation for all assigned claims and conduct the investigation.



 

To be successful in this position the following qualifications are required: 3-5 years of multi-line field claim adjusting experience. College Degree. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent organization skills. AIC Designation or in process of obtaining same or other qualified designation. Viable candidates must possess and maintain valid driver?s license in good standing with the DMV. Ability to travel and be on call 24 hours. Must reside in assigned territory. Positive attitude, self-starter and ability to work independently. PC Skills. We require and support the ongoing professional development of our Claims Management Specialists, CMS(s). For this position a candidate must possess an approved certification(s) or achieve certification within 3 years of hire date. Examples of acceptable certifications include: Examples of acceptable certifications are: AIC, ARM, CPCU, CCLA, WCLA, PCLA, FCLA, SCLA, CIC, CRM, CSR.



 

Also preferred are development experience with several of the following: Independent courses or working toward insurance designation. Experience in Property Estimating utilizing computer program.
