Henkels & McCoy, a national engineering and construction company, has an opening for National Worker Compensation Claims Manager at its corporate headquarters in Blue Bell, PA

Overview:

The National Worker Compensation Claims Manager has oversight of the entire Worker Compensation Claims program. One of the primary focuses is on claims handling and litigation. This position supervises the handling of approximately 600 incoming/new claims annually as well as 300 existing claims by our insurance carrier. This position reports to the VP & General Counsel.



Major Job Elements:



1. Responsible for performing audits on insurance carriers and provide feedback for action plans and file resolution

2. Oversees an audit to assure that the carrier is adhering to its best practices in handling the company files.

3. Maintains working knowledge of "Best in Class" industry standards.

4. Works with defense counsel assisting in the formulation of a litigation plan, and then monitoring same to assure timely and cost effective litigation or settlement

5. Identifies claims to posture for settlement vs. protracted litigation to a loss

6. Works with other departments within the company, i.e. Human Resources, Payroll, Field offices, etc. to coordinate benefits and assure that the company is in compliance with all regulatory requirements

7. Assesses the settlement value of all claims and provide an analysis to management for any claim settlements

8. Handles catastrophic claims appropriately



Qualifications:

5-10 years supervisory/management experience in the insurance industry, primarily in Workers Compensation Bachelors degree Working knowledge and best practices of litigation procedures and experience in handling litigated claims Working knowledge and best practices of multiple jurisdictions in Workers Compensation Experience implementing and maintaining return to work programs Excellent communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
