PD Claims Representative

Position SummaryHandles the investigation, evaluation, and disposition of Third Party property damage claims.Primary Responsibilities1.  Determine the extent of coverage of insured individuals.2.  Complete a detailed, thorough investigation into all aspects of a claim.3.  Obtain all necessary documentation, such as photographs, diagrams, examinations, etc., in a timely and reliable manner.4.  Communicate all aspects of claim resolution effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and  all claims supervisory and support staff.5.  Negotiate and settle with claimants as early as possible to bring cases to final disposition.6.  Estimate losses required to cover claims and create monetary reserves accordingly.7.  Mitigate damages in handling 3rd party losses.8.  Gather information for fraudulent claims through the use of recorded statements and other  investigative tools.Additional Responsibilities1.  Attend any required or necessary training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date  knowledge and skills.2.  Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of processed information.3.  Maintain professional and effective relationships with employees at all levels NJ CURE.4.  Work closely with Special Investigation Unit, Underwriting department, attorneys, and all other other members of the Claims department to ensure that NJ CURE achieves optimum results on all files. Knowledge and Skill Requirements1.  Minimum of 2 years auto claims experience required.2.  Industry designation and / or Bachelor's degree a plus.3.  Must be detail oriented and possess excellent customer service skills.4.  Must have the ability to analyze coverages, liability, and damages.5.  Must have a solid background of comparative negligence settlements.6.  Working knowledge of arbitration procedures very helpful.7.  Must be able to work independently and thoroughly understand and apply NJ CURE's auto policy to property damage claims. Working ConditionsWorking conditions are normal for an office environment.**  This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe orrestrict the tasks that may be assigned.
