Responsibilities:





Manage territory field underwriting responsibilities for a group of assigned agents in Los Angeles and Orange County. Drive new premium / retention through disciplined underwriting.

Provide service / skills for difficult risks.

Act as a trusted advisor to the Agent.

Provide Personal Lines business expertise within a territory.

Uncover untapped market opportunities and develop business opportunities alongside the enterprise sales roles.  Accountable for successful market penetration including:


-  Acting as contact to build, maintain and manage customer/and individual producer


relationships (includes regular agency visits based on business need).


-  Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.


-  Performing front door management to filter new business and reinforce appetite.


-  Partnering with sales on agency planning and goal-setting.


-  Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.


Recommend coverage and deductible options to best meet the needs of the Insured and the organization.  Predominantly responsible for soliciting, risk selection & analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of Personal Insurance products and services for new business.

Maintains clear understanding of renewal needs, working with Center Underwriters to determine price, terms and conditions needed at renewal and identify accounts with issues.

Meets with key new and renewal customers to make sales presentations and negotiate coverages, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.

Works in a team environment with Center Underwriter(s) and Operations to drive the profitability of assigned agencies.

Responsible for meeting service standards of a customer-focused strategy

Ability to identify, acquire and retain large volumes of profitable business.

Target affluent customers with High Valued Homes, Valuable Possessions, Auto and Watercraft, Excess Liability Coverage and Private Events Cancellations.





Requirements:





College-level course work or equivalent experience in underwriting or sales. An advanced degree in Marketing or Business Administration is highly desirable.

4+ years experience in the Insurance field. Previous sales or underwriting experience providing the following skills: sales, training and presentation, negotiation and leadership.

Knowledge of Personal Insurance products, coverages, pricing and underwriting practices, sales processes and agency operations.

Knowledge of reinsurance and excess coverage.

Strong understanding of Agency Management Strategy, and execution of sales plans to achieve overall agency business plans.

Ability to understand and analyze financial, market and economic data to identify trends and determine causes and potential impact.

Excellent human relations skills to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, collaboration and influence management skills.

Excellent analytical, interpretive and evaluative skills to make appropriate decisions.

May be required to maintain current insurance license and may need to satisfy state continuing education requirements.

Ability to work remotely with centralized underwriting and operations team(s) to achieve profitable results.  Must be located within the territory market area.
