Personal Lines Customer Service Representative

Overview:  SJA Agency is part of Sompo Japan Insurance Company of America (SJA). SJA operates in lines of business that are integral to the parent's global strategy and plays a vital role in providing insurance coverage to Sompo Japan Insurance (SJI) global Japanese customers in the U.S. We have an exciting opportunity in our Charlotte, North Carolina location for a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative. Only local candidates will be considered as relocation is not provided.

 



General Summary:

 

The Personal Lines CSR is responsible for providing efficient, professional, and courteous service to SJA Agency Personal Lines clients.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

? Receives, records and enters all PL data and client information necessary to process applications for new, renewal, and endorsement of Personal Lines policies to Travelers and SJAA?s systems.

? Demonstrates the ability to maintain superior service levels, and successfully communicates with underwriters, producers and sometimes clients to handle transactions effectively and resolve problems when necessary.

? Responsible for general correspondence and maintains correspondence files in Agency Management System.

? Forwards personal insurance information to the SJAA commercial producer on their client as directed by the PL Manager.

? Provides customer service to assist clients, as necessary, with questions or problems and promotes SJA Agency goodwill.

? Realizes the importance of his/her responsibilities and takes full charge of them.

 

 

 



Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 (1 - 5) years experience in all areas of responsibility as a Personal Lines CSR preferredPossession of current Property and Casualty Insurance License required or obtain within 90 days of hire date.Exercises good business judgment and acts in a professional manner.Demonstrates a sense of urgencyAbility to prioritize and multi-taskDrives the attainment of personal & unit results through teamwork and a focus on meeting objectivesAbility to communicate (written and verbal) with all levels within the organizationAbility to communicate (written and verbal) with outside customersExperience using software including Windows, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, ExcelAbility to communicate (written and verbal) with internal and external customers Experience using software including Windows, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, ExcelAgency Management experience a plus

? Technical Competencies: Understanding of PL casualty insurance and must be considered and respected as bright, articulate, and intelligent

 

? Business Competencies: Ensures that the required service levels for the job are responsive to the needs of both the internal and external customer

 

? Interpersonal Competencies: commitment, and resilience are required to over come obstacles and sustain quality customer service
