Policy Examiner

This position performs a variety of data entry and clerical activities associated with the prompt and accurate issue of voluntary group product certificates and individual insurance policies to employees.  This includes checking applications for completion through OIT and manually, checking data entry of Individual Issue Specialists, performing data entry into an administration system and performing data entry for small groups to mail out certificate of coverage booklets for these small groups, assembling voluntary group certificates and individual policies for mailing to employee participants and employer groups.  Importantly, the certificates and policies must agree with the employees? applications for benefits and be in compliance with the various states? regulations governing approved policy forms.  On small groups making sure booklets are mailed, endorsements issued, and duplicate policies issued as requested.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential

?  High school graduate or equivalent with 2-3 years general office experience;  or Associates degree or above in a business related field

?  Typing 45-50, data entry 8000+ kph

?  Basic PC skills including Word and Excel]

?  Good verbal and written communication skills

?  Ability to work effectively with others internally and externally

?  Ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirements

?  Ability to make decisions based on sound judgment and standardized policies and procedures

Preferred

?  1+ years insurance experience preferred

?  LOMA courses 1 and 2

?  Good grammar skills and ability to compose professional correspondence

?  Excellent filing skills

?  Detail oriented and able to maintain a low error rate

?  Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

?  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

?  Ability to multi-task and handle deadlines
