Requirements:

Excellent managerial and leadership skills.
Underwriting, marketing, production and management skills to solve complex business problems.
Thorough understanding of remaking procedures, rules, regulations, company filings and their application to nationwide risks and/or loss sensitive program.
Ability to negotiate complex products and commissions with agencies and national brokers.
Substantial experience in underwriting and managing highly unique, large and complex risks.
Experience and understanding of alternative products, exposures and risk transfer/assumption concepts
Skills to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve profit and growth objectives within a given territory.
Proven experience analyzing market and book of business to develop strategies which will improve competitive position
Ability to assess the impact of issues and proposed strategies on the whole business.


Responsibilities:

Manage an underwriting team accountable for a specific territory, line of business, segment, producer group or a population of risks of common complexity.
Coordinate an overall team approach in the achievement of profit goals. Provide leadership, direction and management in the risk selection process.
Manage the internal underwriting review process, including correction of deficiencies.
Direct the training and development of the underwriting staff.
Implement and develop strategies and tactical plan to achieve sales and profit objectives.
Develop new or revised underwriting programs in accordance with plan objectives
