Product Analyst

After a successful thirty year history, Bristol West currently operates in 21 states.  Our automobile insurance policies are sold exclusively through over 7,700 Independent Agents and Brokers at more than 11,000 locations. 

The Product Analyst produces reports, analyzes data, and provides information to support the Product Manager and assist in decision-making processes.  Develops, maintains and disseminates rating information and test materials to implement rate and product changes.  Responsibilities include:

 Generate competitor market basket information to include quoting, tabulation, spreadsheet development, and production of paper output.  Includes overall market basket plus special analysis needed for state-specific situations.  Assist with rate reviews, product changes and analysis.Develop and maintain rate structure and implementation information for specific state(s). Facilitate proper implementation of rate and product changes by answering questions, solving problems, and resolving discrepancies.  Develop expert knowledge of state rating issues and serve as resource in this area.Develop test materials for all rate changes and provide to testing team, systems, and the raters.  Put together demographic data and maps for development of territorial pricing.  Assist in analysis of information used to select territory definitions.Complete reports showing distribution of policies.  Review policies to tabulate results, and review for underwriting compliance.  Act as liaison to internal Customer Service and Claims Departments.Analyze data and prepare regular production reports and specially requested reports.

Qualified candidates will have:

 

? Bachelors degree required

? MBA preferred

? 2-4 years in a business work environment

? 1-3 years of work experience in the insurance industry.

? Knowledge of insurance company operations (processing, underwriting, claims, finance, actuarial, marketing, systems) is helpful.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Strong organizational, planning and quantitative skills.

? Strong attention to detail and quality.

? Excellent PC aptitude including use of Microsoft Excel and Access.

? Knowledge of SAS or Visual Basic is beneficial.
