Description:
** THE AIG - HARTFORD STEAM BOILER COMPANY HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE ON OUR TEAM FOR A COMMERCIAL PROPERTY PRODUCT DESIGN SPECIALIST FOR OUR HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT OFFICE. **


** Basic Functions: **

In this position, you will be responsible for providing guidance to Property Underwriters regarding coverage in property forms submitted for treaty and facultative reinsurance quotations.

Maintain property forms for current programs and monitor usage of forms in the field.

Draft revisions to forms when appropriate.

Prepare documentation required as part of policy form filings with state insurance departments as needed.


** Qualifications - Education: **

Required: - Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

Desired: - Advanced degree in Law, English, Business (e.g. MBA) or Insurance (e.g. CPCU, ARe or CIC designation).


** Qualifications - Work Experience: **

Required: - 5 years experience in the insurance industry in a role requiring analysis of Commercial Property (including broker manuscript)
policy forms.

Desired: - 10 years experience in the insurance industry in a role requiring the drafting and analysis of Commercial Property policy language and the preparation of state filings.


** Qualifications - Technical Skills: **

Required: - PC skills, including Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Excellent written communication skills, including correct use of grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Desired: - Understanding of HSB products and services, client company operations, insurance policy construction and policy drafting
techniques. Understanding of the state filing process.


** Qualifications - Non-Technical Skills: **

Required: - Ability to work independently and within a team. Self motivated with a high degree of initiative. Strong interpersonal skills.
Commitment to superior customer service skills.

Desired: - Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within HSB and client organizations. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
