PRODUCTION MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE

TERRITORY:  Eastern Kansas

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Job responsibilities include both marketing duties and production underwriter duties.  Marketing duties include promoting the Company to agencies to produce and retain good profitable business.  Assist agents with issues involving personal and commercial underwriting, claims, bonds and life departments.  Commercial Production Underwriting duties include using field underwriting authority to write profitable commercial business while maintaining underwriting discipline.  Overall, to project a positive imagine of the company and provide good service through good communications.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Serve as liaison between company and agency to resolve problems and promote a positive working relationship.Promote Company products to agents including property & casualty, bonds and life.Generate production from agencies with profitable business. Commercial large accounts new business production underwriter.Underwrite and quote new business submissions.Monitor agency performance to recognize problems and recommend solutions.Inspect and evaluate risks for agency when requested.Prepare and participate in annual and semi-annual agency reviewCall on prospective agencies to qualify for appointment.Keep company apprised of what competition is doing.Arrange for business and social functions for agents in territoryAssist is selecting agency advisory board members in territory.Spend at least one day in office completing necessary communication and reports.Must have valid drivers license and meet company driving standards.Regular attendance.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must have strong communication skills, and deal with people in tactful and diplomatic manner.  Demonstrate strong commercial underwriter analytical skills to evaluate large and more complex new business submissions within acceptability guidelines.  Possess strong insurance knowledge including field underwriting, rating, coverage?s, contracts and functions of other departments. Must maintain a good working relationship with both agents and company personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPIERENCE:

Four year college degree, CPCU, or CIC strongly desired.  Minimum seven years marketing and commercial underwriting experience desired, five years commercial underwriting required, field underwriting experience desired.  Must be willing to pursue appropriate insurance designations.
