Professional Liability Claims Specialist

 


 


This Chicago Based position is responsible for the investigation, evaluation and disposition of large, complex Professional Liability claims. This position may handle any of the following types of Professional Liability claims such as medical malpractice, legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, Agents E&O, D&O, EPLI, and miscellaneous PL.


The position will handle routine cases independently and unusual cases under general direction within established policies, procedures and precedents.


Job Requirements:


This claim handling position requires:


- In-depth knowledge of liability policy language and coverage interpretation.


- Advanced coverage and liability investigation skills.


- Strong knowledge of tort law, contract law and liability concepts applicable to Professional Liability claims.


- Skills to effectively manage and resolve litigation involving multiple defendants and/or multiple insurers.


- Skills to analyze complex issues and make prompt, sound decisions within autonomy granted.


- Strong written and verbal communication skills.


- Highly refined negotiation skills.


- Skills to approach cases analytically to arrive at solutions and develop case strategies.


- Proven ability to manage a significant caseload within established policies and procedures.


- 5+ years of progressive experience.
