Project Manager - (V1037)

Lead the implementation of assigned corporate priority initiatives assigned by the AVP, IMO. Build and provide direction to project teams, create and foster communication among team members anticipate and achieve problem resolution, and achieve successful resolution. Incorporate project management discipline, including monitoring and reporting of return on investment.

REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:

Lead, direct, manage and implement major corporate initiatives. Build and cultivate project teams. Establish clear goals and objectives for each endeavor. Determine time frames and deliverables for all phases of the project. Hold effective, productive meetings. Confer with Executive staff to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Monitor and provide status reports on key corporate planning projects. Review and manage project proposals (i.e. Business Cases) for timeline, process, resource, and cost requirements. Apply ROI principles to projects and conduct cost benefit analyses. Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of project management including quality assurance and client satisfaction.

Responsible for the technical and business quality of engagement work products, solutions, and deliverables. Ensure that new processes and client capabilities meet all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.


Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and implementation of all contracted project activities. Develop GANTT and PERT charts, project tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements. Exercise scope management/control respecting the client, team, and BCBSRI needs.

Track, assess and communicate project goals, timelines, action items, variances, issues, and budgets. Develop contingency plans. Understands project skill requirements, and defines team roles and responsibilities. Oversees work and mentors staff members on project team.

Make recommendations for efficient implementation of plans. Research, analyze information, and identify alternative methods of implementation. Ensure implementation strategies are those with the most return on investment for the Corporation. Review, analyze, format, compile, and produce planning documents for management, including providing all production and back-up support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of:
Project management methodologies, processes, and tools.

Technical Skills:
Computer literate, including Microsoft Office, Project and other Project Management tools and methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, team leadership, and problem solving skills.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.



Ability to:
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders including team members, IT resources, resources in other areas of the business and upper management.
Calculate a cost benefit analysis and drive projects to a positive ROI.
Work independently or on a team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Train and mentor staff on project management principles, methodologies, and practices.
Expedite business cycles by fostering coordination, cooperation, and communication between business areas.
Support and endorse the sharing of information, cultivate cooperation and understand differing views and perspectives.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.
3+ years of project management experience.
Developing and implementing project methodologies and standards.
5+ years business experience, preferably in the health insurance industry.

Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree
HIAA Certification
PMP certification and data warehouse project delivery
