Project Manager (non IT)

Lumenos, the leader in consumer-driven health care and a member of WellPoint, a Fortune 50 company, has an immediate opening for an experienced Project Manager (contract).  This position will lead a group responsible for managing the open enrollment process for new and renewing clients and promoting the engagement of members in taking pro active steps towards managing their health.  Job duties include:

 

Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing assigned projects;

Developing/enhancing processes and programs;

Defining project scope and objectives based on an analysis of the project needs;

Providing expertise and guidance during the term of the project, from conceptualization to implementation;

Developing and documenting project plans, budgets and schedules;

Identifying and documenting the roles, tasks, and responsibilities of the project team;

Controlling the delivery of a solution that meets business requirements and solves stated business problems within agreed upon budget and schedule;

Assigning tasks, ing and reporting project team performance; and

Aiding users during the testing of process enhancements and during the subsequent acceptance, implementation, and final review phases. Developing a training program necessary to ensure an orderly and efficient changeover to the new or enhanced processes.

 

This position will involve about 30% travel within the United States.

 

The qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

 Bachelor's degree plus minimum of 3 years managing multiple large, complex and cross-functional projects, with emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesigns.Project management experience (5+ years) with the proven ability to drive projects to successful completion.  Extensive knowledge of the health care services industry and technical environments.Strong understanding of requirements development, user acceptance testing process and tasks.Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and communications (verbal and written) skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsProficient and efficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking ability via effective use of current technologiesEffective training program development and presentation skills.Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
