Property Field Unit Leader, Claims AM

Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supervises the activity of supervising the Independent and direct repair contractors within a specific unit to ensure that claims are handled promptly and equitably within the provisions of the policy contract and in accordance with the damages. Coordinates activity to ensure coverage issues are clarified and investigations and evaluations are properly conducted. 2. Field Unit Leaders conduct re-inspections of property and auto damage appraisals to determine technical accuracies and proficiencies of field staff and independent adjusters. Prepares re-inspection report/analysis and discusses findings with respective adjusters/appraisers for purpose of seeking skills improvement. 3. Reviews claim loss reports as received, assess complexity and identifies potential issues. Prepares new loss assignment worksheets and assigns claim to appropriate staff level to facilitate prompt disposition. Provides technical support and guidance as necessary. 4. Reviews reserves on claims within the unit to ensure adequacy and accuracy.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: BS/BA degree or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience as Claims Representative. In-depth understanding of company operating structure particularly within region being serviced. Thorough knowledge of corporate claims procedures and including Litigation Management and Fraud Awareness programs. Comprehensive knowledge of claims processing systems. Broad understanding of company policies. Thorough knowledge claims investigation techniques, medical and legal aspects of claims. Teamwork. People management skills including interviewing skills, training, team building, and performance management. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication. Able to track claims activity and properly document all actions. Able to plan, prioritize and organize claims workload for a unit. Negotiation skills.
