This position will handle the Homeowners property damage claims within their respective territory and/or zone. Travel throughout the zone will be required to manage the claims. Will also be responsible for coordinating the zone?s claims catastrophe response and management program ? working closely with underwriting resources to anticipate type and scope of catastrophe exposures within their zone and formulating plans to manage potential loss scenarios. Responsible for the fair and accurate disposition of homeowner field claims b determining coverage, applying policy terms and conditions, determining damages and negotiating settlements. Conducts field inspections on all losses which occur in their respective territories as assigned. Investigates, estimates and settles 1st party homeowner property losses according to company guidelines. Determines the likely cause of loss and damages. Reviews the policy to determine coverage and issues denials when appropriate. Investigates subrogation claims against responsible party. Coordinates disposal of salvage. Must recommend, direct and monitor vendors such as builders, experts, CPA?s engineers and attorneys where appropriate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a field position servicing our Long Island customer base. The position may also require travel on a limited basis for catastrophe duty. The candidate will report to the Berkeley Heights office, but will not be required to travel there on a regular basis.
