Quality Assurance Test Analyst III

KEMI, the largest provider of worker's compensation insurance in Kentucky, is seeking qualified individuals to join our Information Technology Unit.

Job Responsibilities: Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to create testing scenarios for software programs. Coordinates testing of computer programs with end user and third parties. Creates and documents test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm the programs meet specifications. Consults with programmers to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs. Rejects code and sends back to development when tests fail. Prepares standard statistical reports such as testing matrix. Assists in testing resource estimates and schedules. Reviews requirements for testability, maintainability, accuracy and consistency. Conducts product evaluation and process monitoring to assure conformance to standards. Participates in product development and design review meetings. Gains a functional understanding of the client systems, architecture and operating environment. Identifies, analyzes and documents defects, and inconsistencies in software program.

 

Job Requirements: Ability to work effectively individually as well as in teams. Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and analysis, attention to detail and investigative skills. Strong ability to focus on processes, analyzing each step and to consider exceptions to the norm. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Comfortable with handling multiple tasks and issues at one time. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accordingly. Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Point and Access. Two years as a Quality Tester or three years insurance experience preferred. Claims experience very desirable. Bachelors degree preferred.
