RESIDENT PROPERTY ADJUSTER -?Sallisaw, OK - reports to Tulsa, OK Claims Branch

Shelter Insurance Companies has an opening in?Sallisaw, OK for a?Resident Property Claims Adjuster. General business knowledge in an insurance setting and 3 ? 5 years of previous claims adjusting experience preferred, specifically in the area of?property?adjusting.

POSITION PURPOSE:



Under the general supervision of a branch Claims Supervisor, Property Specialist, Branch Claims Manager or Property Manager, investigates, analyzes, evaluates and settles insurance claims involving?property?damage losses. Determines value of a claim and negotiates settlements within prescribed limits of authority, in accordance with established procedures and consistent with legal and contractual obligations. Position specializes in adjusting claims requiring coverage investigation and physical inspection.? Assists with training of Adjusters and provides expertise.? May involve handling of?complex property losses requiring expertise in fraud detection and prevention.? May be assigned duties with regard to catastrophe teams for property losses. May involve extensive travel handling weather-related claims in a variety of geographic locations.



REQUIREMENTS:



?Current adjuster with experience?preferred.

?Requires an advancing knowledge of property construction.

?Must possess a valid driver?s license supported by a good driving history.

?Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

?Must be able to work outside in all temperatures.

?Must be physically able to travel long distances and lift/move/climb ladders.

?Must be able to travel overnight as job requires.

?Must be able to completely inspect property and automobiles (physically and visually).
