Job Description

The largest provider of high quality veterinary services in the country is searching for an individual to join our Risk and Safety Department. This position reports to the Claims Manager and the job responsibilities are as follows:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee open workers? compensation claims (up to a certain value).
- Monitor employee doctor visits (medical treatment).
- Ensure that modified duty jobs are available and monitor the length of time employee is at modified duties.
- Communicate claim status with department supervisors, managers, HR managers, doctors, adjusters, etc.
- Oversee book of General and Professional Liability claims.

- Assist with assignment of claims within department.

- Assist with data audits and compiling data for reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain confidential information.
- Thorough understanding of Workers Compensation law and how it is applied.
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed to develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Must be detail oriented and possess a thorough knowledge of record maintenance and administration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Must have the ability to respond to employee and client concerns with a diplomatic and sensitive manner.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required.

- General math and financial skills a plus.

- General knowledge of veterinary medicine a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree preferred and at least 2+ years of related experience in Insurance and Workers Compensation Administration.
