SR. Manager, Health Care and Analytics

The candidate is accountable for ensuring that Analytics Department is positioned to utilize the most advanced and appropriate tools, clinical analyses and reporting methods that will contribute to internal customer, external customer and provider decision support. The successful person in this role will work with her/his team to design studies, metrics and programs that demonstrate the impact of Companies products and services on health care utilization, cost and quality. The Manager also will be accountable for the analytic tools that contribute Clinical Decision Support functions to the end user applications and products. This role will demand a problem solving and consultative approach to the interaction with all customers.

Functions:
? Develop analytical methods and projects that
o Will examine the effectiveness and efficiency of SharedHealth interventions, features and products.
o Will answer operational/business questions and provide executive management with information for both strategic and tactical decisions.
? Collaborate with customers and other partners on analytical projects and develop methods and tools that will aid them in accomplishing their objectives.
? Develop research projects that will examine decisions made by providers and patients and find ways that Companies products and services can influence those decisions to promote both efficiency and quality.
? Manage the research, development, and consulting function to assure that all work is done in a timely and accurate manner and that it meets customer needs.
? Work closely with the Sr. Manager of Product Development to integrate analytics tools into end user applications and products.
? Evaluate health analytic tools, products, vendors and outside contractors for the purpose of advising the senior executive staff on appropriate purchases and acquisitions.
? Manage and oversee analytics vendor and contractor relationships and facilitate/monitor vendor product installations.
? Provide customer training and service on analytical programs and tools developed or acquired by the department for internal or external use.
? Encourage analytics staff to disseminate project results at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
? Hire, maintain, develop, mentor, coach and cross-train a staff of dedicated statistical research analysts.
? Provide input to the department?s budget and approve requests for travel, training, books and subscriptions, etc that might be helpful in accomplishing the department?s mission.

 

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, public health, economics, nursing, or pharmacy with extensive experience is necessary. A Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
The following experience is required:
? More than seven years in managed care or disease management outcomes research reporting using quantitative and qualitative analysis. (Five years experience can also be acceptable if accompanied by an advanced clinical degree.)
? More than five years of experience in Business Intelligence tool(s) (i.e., Business Objects, SAS, SQL, etc.)
? More than three years of experience using major statistical/data mining software packages (e.g. Business Objects, SAS, MINITAB, etc.) as well as focused health informatics products and understanding of ETG and DCG analysis.
? Microsoft Office Products expertise
? More than three years of clinical concepts, coding experience and understanding of HEDIS and quality measures.
? More than three years of supervisory experience.
? Extensive record of innovative, nimble thinking and problem solving.
? Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written are required.
? Outstanding ability to work within a team.
? Extended hours and occasional travel will be required.
