JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Gathers information for new disability claims received via electronic and telephonic means.

-Goes the extra mile to educate customers, answering questions and setting expectations.

-Accesses data and verifies demographic information.

-Follows up via telephone, email and written correspondence to obtain missing information.

-Accurately inputs data into computer systems.

-Documents decisions/actions appropriately and clearly.

-This is a high volume claims office and the successful candidate must be able to consistently meet performance metrics, which include timeliness, quality and production.

SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
-Strong keyboard skills and organizational abilities.

-Effective verbal and written communication skills.

-Strong customer service focus.

-Projects a positive, helpful attitude and is committed to achieving excellence in everything.

-Must be able to make an appropriate and timely decision based on available data.

-Must be flexible and be able to quickly assimilate large amounts of information.

-Active listener.

-Adept at handling multiple assignments and responsibilities simultaneously, while meeting tight timelines.

-Works cooperatively and effectively in a team setting and establishes positive cross-functional relationships.

-Excellent attendance and punctuality.

-Prior customer service experience desired.
-Previous medical-related experience a plus.

This job is located in a large claims area. You will be working in a team environment with analysts and support staff. To ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service, we have service expectations and goals. This is a high volume and fast paced office. You will be working with a highly supportive management team in a positive environment.
