Senior Accountant

 

General Purpose of Position:
Financial reporting for Palisades Group of Companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Monthly GAAP and SAP financial close 40%

?  Monthly GAAP and SAP financial close for Palisades Group ? Consolidations 10%

?  Annual and quarterly regulatory reporting 10%

?  Balance Sheet account reconciliations 15%

?  Assist external auditors with interim and annual audit review 10%

?  Internal reporting 5%

?  Various external reporting requirements ? N.J. Excess profits

?  Report and statistical reports 5%

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

?  Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

?  Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting; and four to six years related experience and/or training.

Must Have New Jersey Property and Casualty Insurance Experience

Reasoning Ability and Communications Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in a fast- paced environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
