Senior Auto Claims Examiner (Req# CL0605)

Responsible for the complete handling, including establishment of coverage, liability and damages, to enable equitable resolutions of all claim assignments. Undertake responsibility for complex and /or high exposure claim assignments in all lines. Responsible for investigation, analysis and evaluation of all claim assignments to include the issues of coverage, liability and damages. Negotiates equitable settlements and produce successful resolutions in accordance with company policies and department guidelines. Exercise independent judgment and employs sound decision making in undertaking the above responsibilities. Comply with all aspects of the Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations. Properly document all claim files with dated progress notes and reports to record results of investigation and handling, stating reasons for decisions and evaluations in accordance with guidelines. Establish and maintain appropriate reserves on all claims that reflect company policies and guidelines. Attend settlement conferences, other meetings and hearings as required. Assist in reaching company and department objectives by reducing pending files and successfully concluding all claim assignments, maintains 100% closing ratio. Undertake responsibility for re-insurance reporting. Analyze and evaluate converge issues and prepare communication on coverage positions. Analyze and evaluate complex claim issues and high exposure claims with plans for implementing resolutions and conducting the activity to reach resolution. Conduct study and research in related claims areas as may be requested by Claims Management. Manage, direct and control claims litigation. Undertake special assignments and tasks as requested by Claims Management. Properly document and review with management all Time Limit Demands. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent (degree from an accredited college or university preferred), minimum 12 years related experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate: 1) Knowledge of coverage written by the company as well as overall knowledge of the principles of insurance, 2) Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to accomplish job responsibilities, 3) Have physical and emotional stamina and stability to perform effectively under adverse conditions, within deadlines and with heavy workloads when necessary, 4) Effective communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated performance indicating sufficient level of competence to accept job responsibilities and accountability, 5) Excellent judgment, decision making, problem solving, analytical, planning and organizational skills, 6) Valid Driver?s License with clean driving record and insured automobile, 7) Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook preferred, 8) Keyboard speed of 45 works per minute, 9) Analytical skills and decision-making ability to effectively recognize and evaluate coverage and claims problem.
