JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY:
Provides consulting service to assigned department(s) in the areas of streamlining business processes, creating improvements in quality and/or productivity, cost reductions, competitive benchmarking, organization analysis, and customer service improvements. Recommends changes that have a direct and significant impact on the department's bottom line.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Select and execute the methods of data collection that will appropriately identify information that is significant and essential to the effectiveness of business practices and procedures.
Identify and evaluate issues, spearhead project to resolve problems which include working with representatives from various departments. Communicate changes to the appropriate internal/external individuals.
Act as the liaison for multiple disciplines (e.g. claim, premium audit, underwriting, rating, customer service, and engineering) and resolve all applicable issues which have an impact on the business.
Review, research and analyze information (memos, newsletters, bulletins, audits, etc.) to determine the impact on all operations. Develop and implement a plan of action.
Work with assigned department(s) to develop and implement business strategies which increase profitability.
Develop and revise procedures and practices for multiple disciplines which have broad implications on the business and meet established standards.
Develop curriculum and conduct training to upgrade the skills of the affected department's staff. Develop and provide instructional materials and/or documentation.
Participate in projects as assigned based on skill level and experience to meet the needs of the business.
Facilitate the distribution of in-coming work to analysts according to their current workload, skills and experience.
May have staff management responsibilities.

Working knowledge of the Property Casualty business, products, procedures.

Develops new methods or approaches to getting the work done. Able to evaluate and support the business needs of assigned department. Manages own work and directs the work of others on the project team. Manages major projects having impact on the Business' bottom line.
Self Management - Takes responsibility for decisions and actions. Takes responsibility for own performance and development.
Communications - Listens to and understands issues and problems. Asks questions to clarify expectations. Demonstrates strong negotiating skills. Understands, synthesizes and conveys complex data. Clearly expresses ideas, recommendations, etc. orally and in writing. Makes effective and persuasive oral (e.g., one-on-one, group and/or platform) and written presentations. Able to present subjects clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences with ideas that are concise and logical.
Business/Technical Knowledge - Understands products, services, systems, functions and/or work flow of assigned department. Able to operationalize the business needs of the client. Knows how to get things done. Evaluates business condition and translates the solution into a manual and/or automated process.
