Job Summary:

Under broad management direction, underwrites and analyzes new and renewal business for Contract Surety. Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals. Works at the highest authority limits on assignments utilizing the highest degree of technical complexity and coordination. Markets companies' products and services through an agency plant or through the brokerage community. Develops/maintains most significant agency and /or broker relationships. Possesses a high and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills including product and industry. Will provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level associates.



Job Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent

8 or more years of related experience.

1. Highly advanced knowledge and practice of line/s of business.
2. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines.
3. Ability to effectively assess risk.
4. Ability to multi-task.
5. Ability to function in a team environment.
6. Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
7. PC literate.
8. Strong negotiation skills.
