Senior Business Analyst

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

 

Reports to Vice President of Application Development

 

BASIC OBJECTIVE:

This position is accountable for managing, monitoring and coordinating system related statutory and regulatory reporting for the Northeast Region, including ISO stat reporting.  Determines the statutory and regulatory implications caused by new projects and initiatives. Provides in-depth business expertise and project delivery.  Works in an independent and self-directed manner to promote future company system needs with respect to statutory and regulatory reporting.

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Analyze the quarterly ISO reports to determine system issues and resolutions to ensure the passing of ISO edits and other state and regulatory requirements for the Northeast.  Appropriately reports on progress to business areas and senior management.

 Coordinate with the business areas in the area of statutory and regulatory requirements to determine requirements for systems development or revision.

 Write detailed specifications for statutory and regulatory requirements for both existing and new initiatives.  Performs testing of system changes with respect to statutory and regulatory reporting.  Obtains business area sign-off.

 Develop documentation for statutory reporting and updates regularly with all system changes made.

 

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent business experience 4 + years? experience in the design and development of complex business systems in the P&C insurance industry Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills Knowledge of project life cycle and project management methodologies Excellent analytical abilities Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Expertise in web based technology as well as mainframe is highly

 

  Physical Requirements:

 

  Normal office environment.

Some overnight travel required.

Some nights and weekends required
