Sr. Underwriter - Chubb Pro-Media
The ChubbPro Underwriter will be responsible for generation of new and renewal business in professional lines of coverage. Primary responsibility will be underwriting Media Liability, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Employment Practices, Employed Lawyers (coverage for in house counsel) and Safety Net. This position is part of the ChubbPro New York Team, based in Downtown NY and includes the eastern seaboard of produced business. Specific responsibilities include producer relationship management, compliance with underwriting and file documentation guidelines/objectives while achieving revenue and profit goals, and close coordination with branch and marketing management as well as fellow underwriters to accomplish business objectives. This position requires a positive attitude and work ethic and a genuine fondness for the underwriting craft and business. Also required is the capability and willingness to execute new and/or modified strategies in an evolving, dynamic legal and claim environment.
Position Requirements:
A proven and successful track record with a minimum 3 - 5 years underwriting experience. Experience handling Media Professional Liability lines in an underwriting capacity preferred, but not a must. Candidates with exposure to multiple professional lines, including Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Media E&O, Employment Practices and other types of Legal Liability in underwriting or claims capacities would also be of interest. Candidates must have proven sales and negotiation experience. Candidates with exposure to the NY producer plant with solid broker relationships are preferable. A commitment to superb technical skills, execution of product strategy and proper file documentation is also necessary. Excellent communication, analytical and decision making skills along with a track record of being a highly motivated self starter with a positive attitude and desire to grow professionally is a must. A team oriented outlook is also necessary including a desire to work with branch management, marketing personnel and fellow underwriters.
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred but will accept significant experience in lieu of degree.
