The Structured Data Analyst enables the timely review, analysis and loading of bulk deals by quickly and effectively processing and formatting lender data files for upload into necessary business systems. He/She provides reporting & analysis of structured transaction business and may also provide systems support & enhancements coordination for the team. He/She works independently to accomplish tactical/operational objectives set by the Director.

 

Responsibilities: Proactively begins the structured transaction data file processing by preparing the data for pricing, analysis and boarding. Supports the deal managers throughout the process. Receives large data files from customers and checks for proper formatting to ensure compatibility with business systems needed for evaluating and pricing the transaction. Performs necessary data format translations and conversions of lender files. Loads the data file into the deal manager business system used by the deal managers and the risk management/pricing groups to evaluate and price the deal. Meets required turnaround times to process the files. Utilizes both automated tools and manual techniques to translate the data format. Handles files from small to large loan originators, aggregators and/or government sponsored entities (GSEs), requiring increasing levels of time and effort to translate/convert data. Accepts and checks the final data file from the customer after the deal has been proposed and won. Ensures proper format, performs translations/conversions if necessary. Reconciles data in final file with data in originally submitted file. Proactively assesses process & system improvement needs and make recommendations to management. Creates final data file for the boarding and servicing of the transaction. Saves the file on a shared server for access and boarding by the servicing operations personnel. Frequently contacts customer, usually at peer level, to seek clarification on data file contents, locate missing data elements, discuss data formatting requirements, etc. Works with customer to determine alternate methods to obtain necessary data. Runs reports from various business systems for management decision making. May work with very large data files and manipulate/format to be used by others for analysis. Ensures accuracy of loan data in the deal manager system which is the source data for other systems. May coordinate deal manager system enhancements with other users, tracking and keeping team informed of status of enhancements.

 

Requirements: Bachelors degree with 3+ years of related exerpience or some college with 5+ years related experience. General knowledge of mortgage lending industry terminology to understand the information in the lender?s data files and to determine optimal methods and techniques for the conversations/translations & formatting. Highly proficient in MS Excel & Access. Good proficiency with other MS Office applications. Basic SQL skills. Very strong attention to detail and good analytical skills. Strong customer service orientation. Demonstrated ability to make decisions proactively and independently and react quickly and effectively in high pressure, time sensitive environment. Excellent team collaboration communication and interpersonal skills.
