Job Description: Under direction of Branch Manager, supervise a property claims adjusting unit of 5 adjusters to produce a product of superior quality for Crawford & Company clients while meeting established production objectives and service standards.

 

Responsibilities:
recruit, hire and evaluate performance of unit personnel;
train and develop new employees;
provides a liaison with the client, advising/assisting them with specialized programs;
promotes a good public image of the company;
maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements of industry;
continue own personal development through continuing education and seminars;
may maintain records such as sick leave, vacation, expenses, budgets;
and participate in special projects and perform other duties as requested.

 

Continuous interaction with adjusters, claimants and clients to exchange information; decisions may require analysis of alternative courses of action.

 

Requirements: At least two years college, plus previous experience as a property claims adjuster as well as supervising claims adjusters.  Must be thoroughly familar with south and central Florida.

 

Knowledge and skills:
excellent verbal and written communication skills;
analytical ability; good mathematical aptitude;
good organizational and interpersonal skills;
in-depth knowledge of insurance coverage, practices;
strong negotiating skills;
familiarity with Xactimate of similar estimating software;
good PC skills.

 

Maintenance of adjuster?s license; must possess a valid driver?s license; must complete designated continuing education courses; and additional courses may be required by jurisdiction of maintenance of license.
