The New York office located in the New York Downtown area has the following opportunity available.
UNDERWRITING TECHNICIAN ? Responsible for the following:
1- Review online Clearance database for existing liabilities by Coverage.
2- Input information to Online Underwriting system to create Reserve.
3- Input Authorization/Binder information.
4- Issue Certificate documents.
5- Handle diaries as due.
6- Review Ceding Company policies.
7- Input Catastrophe information to Clasic Cat Modeling Program.
8- Review of underwriting mail.
9- Assist Collections department with review of premium discrepancies or outstanding premium
payments.
10-Duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department manager.
Education: College Graduate
Skills/Experience:
A minimum of 10 years experience as either an Underwriting/Technical Assistant to Casualty Underwriter or within an Underwriting Services Unit. Prefer that the experience be in Facultative Reinsurance - Specialty Lines - Med Malpractice or D&O/E&O. Will waive 10 years experience if individual has taken coverage courses for either Medical Malpractice or Directors/Officers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detail oriented individual.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in review of policies for coverage issues.
