Founded in 1897, Church Mutual Insurance Company is the leading insurer of worship centers and religious-related institutions in the United States.  We are seeking an energetic, self-starter to join us as an Underwriter to write and retain profitable business within our niche market while meeting company objectives. This position is in our corporate office located in Merrill, Wisconsin, which also supports 42 field offices throughout the United States.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

? Analyze, evaluate and make sound underwriting decisions within established binding authority, on transactions for prospective and existing customers, for all lines of commercial coverages.

 

? Effectively communicate with internal customers in a team environment and external customers on questions and issues.

 

? Support the sales force (primarily direct representatives) to write and retain profitable business.

 

? Continually monitor growth and profitability within an assigned territory.

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

 

? A minimum of three years experience underwriting in the property and casualty field.

? A bachelor's degree in business or other related major

? A thorough understanding of all commercial lines of coverage

? CPCU, ARM, CIC or AU completed or in progress.

? Strong analytical, decision-making and negotiation skills.

? Interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment and effective communication skills.
