Underwriting Analyst

Covenant Health, one of East Tennessee?s largest and most comprehensive health systems, is currently accepting applications for an Underwriting Analyst at Cariten/PHP in Knoxville, TN. Cariten/PHP is a provider-owned 600,000 member managed care organization with a provider network of more than 7,500 physicians and 60 hospitals. The Underwriting Analyst is a position requiring good judgment skills as well as excellent mathematical and analytical understanding.  The Underwriting Analyst utilizes these skills to analyze health care risks, predict possible trends and develop rates that will generate adequate revenue to cover medical costs.

 

Requirements: Associate of Arts or Science or equivalent business experience required in financial analysis, statistics, underwriting and/or health insurance knowledge. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications especially in Excel.

 

At least three (3) years health insurance experience with strong knowledge of insurance operations or prior underwriting/analytical experience as well as general medical terminology knowledge preferred along with experience in large and small group methodologies.
