Underwriting Assitant - Environmental Underwriting
Description: This position assists the Environmental underwriting unit in the efficient and accurate handling of the aspects of the underwriting process while developing knowledge of the Environmental product line. Duties include but are not limited to:
handling the renewal solicitation process (i.e., e-mailing client's renewal applications)
managing in-flow and out-flow of mail within the department
entering new line accounts into the system (ie., database entry) and maintaining daily and monthly submission log and new accounts bound log
issuing policies, endorsements and following up on outstanding items needed for policy issuance
assisting in managing internal work-flow within division
general filing and file maintenance
gathering data for the underwriting process
building relationships with brokers (clients) through responsiveness to requests
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Word, Excel and Power Point
Self-starter with ability to multi-task (ie, strong time management skills)
Ability to work on both individual and team projects
Effective communication skills: written and verbal
Superb organization skills
Prior administrative experience a definite plus
Prior insurance experience a plus
Strong work ethic
Strong data entry and typing skills
People-oriented with high level of patience
Education: Associate's degree completed or near completion (higher level of experience may be substituted for educational requirement)
