Responsibilities:
Provide support to Specialty Underwriting Hub Operations by performing a variety of essential functions and/or tasks not limited to those identified below:
Ensures compliance with all SOX controls within assigned Team;
Provides support to Underwriters of Specialty risks in pre-analysis of renewal risks and selection/rejection of new and renewal business within established guidelines;
Participates in underwriting production meetings and producer reviews as needed;
Assists with conducting operations file reviews/audits and reporting results;
Audits to ensure that risks fall within established parameters and policies are processed correctly using computerized or manual processes;
Works directly with agents, underwriters, business owners, and Service Center Personnel as a liaison between Hub (Field) Operations & Service Center; and
Timely PAIR handling and resolution, including reporting and correcting system errors.
Requirements:
5+ years work experience in an Insurance or Financial Services Organization;
Accurate keyboarding skills and deep understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
Expert knowledge on regulatory issues. Understands the key concepts behind insurance industry regulations and legislation;
Solid knowledge of the insurance industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters;
Knowledge and understanding of state laws, practices, tools and techniques for assessing potential exposures and determining whether and with what conditions to offer coverage;
Knowledge of the full spectrum of activities, practices, tools and considerations for managing the underwriting process;
Possess Knowledge Companys target market, and have the ability to identify types of risks and associated basic exposures;
Is aware of the standard coverages provided by the major products in own division;
Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation;
Accurately and clearly represents business issues to internal & external audiences, including leadership, underwriters, and agents;
Ability to calculate and interpret numbers and relations among numbers used in conducting business transactions;
Ability to analyze data for multiple policy lines of business, and provide clear concise instructions for policy assembly;
Accesses appropriate resources that assist in the analytical process;
Knowledge of the tools, processes, and practices that describe business results in measurable scales and assist in making business decisions;
Good understanding of workflow processes. Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems;
Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility;
Knowledge of successful approaches, tools and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment;
Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation;
Demonstrates the ability to perform in a team environment;
Anticipates possible challenges/barriers with a workflow process or system and proposes/executes collaborative solutions
Develop cohesive relationships with leadership, peers, business partners, and external customers;
Knowledge of tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing and effectively dealing with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group or situation level;
Ability to understand customer needs and expectations, provide excellent service in direct and indirect manner, and fulfill customer expectations;

Demonstrates the ability to lead within the group; and
Ability to facilitate the quality assurance program for the entire center, and suggest corrective action to leadership based on assignment.
