Underwriting Team Leader

Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred

Ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of underwriting experience and expertise in excess/umbrella. Must have strong leadership skills. Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required. Strong marketing, negotiation, communication, customer service and time management skills are critical for success. Must be a team player with the ability to interact successfully with all levels of internal/external contacts.

Job Description
The Excess/Umbrella Team Leader is responsible for the underwriting profit, growth, retention and rate of assigned team of two underwriters handling business from DTO/BTB producer plant ($20M total book). Manages assigned book of business (+$5M) and broker relationships with an emphasis on marketing/production. Responsible for recruiting, supervising,evaluating,developing, and retaining quality staff.
