Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant

Evaluate medical records, treatment plans and therapy notes comparing job demands, educational background and prior work experience to coordinate return to work or determine suitability for vocational rehabilitation services. Facilitates job accommodations for employee to return to work. Conducts vocational assessment and prepares individualized, goal-focused return to work plans. Facilitate communication between Employee, Attending Physician, Therapist, Employer and partner with all parties to achieve a positive outcome. Address barriers to return to work. Knowledge of how diagnosis/symptoms correlate with functional ability in relationship to work ability.

 

Required Competencies

Masters degree in Vocational Counseling or similar area of study required. CRC or CDMS certification with 3 year experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.

Must have skills in problem solving, negotiating, and time management. Must have resourcefulness, diplomacy, creativity and objectivity in handling various assignments. Must be able to work in a team environment.
