Trend Detection Opportunities in Humana's Center for Health Metrics
The Trend Detection Unit of the Center for Health Metrics works to drive solutions that impact Humana's strategic direction around: product development, provider contracting, clinical programs, legislation, and more! In this Unit, you will work as a strategic partner to many areas including Actuarial, Finance, Underwriting, Product Development, Information Management, Pharmacy Management, Clinical Programs, Government Relations and Fraud & Abuse. Conduct root cause analysis and create recommendations for trend mitigation. Develop, manage and maintain department infrastructure including data assets, analysis methods, tools, project management, personnel, and reporting processes. Create, evaluate, test and support statistical, actuarial and data model designs for root cause analysis via business intelligence, domain expertise and the latest technologies in neural networks, machine learning, statistical methods, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. Develop a library of metrics, methods, reports, results and recommendations. Collaborate with the Chief Science Officer and other research assistants.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors or Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering Discipline
Credit for Society of Actuary exams - Actuarial Models and Actuarial Modeling
At least 5 years of health insurance industry experience with experience in pricing, product development, pharmacy management and benefits design, risk adjustment, disease/condition management and outcomes analysis, financial recoveries and fraud and abuse
Programming experience in: SAS, SPSS, Matlab, C/C++, Java and VB
Relevant experience in relational databases (Oracle, Access, MySQL) and SQL/PL programming
Algorithm background in information visualization, data mining, root cause analysis and statistics
