Associate Producer

JK Design (http://www.jkdesign.com), is a well established creative interactive agency with a 20 year history. NJBiz ranked us as one of their Top 50 New Jersey Internet Technology Firms in September 2003, 2004 and 2005! Our office is located in central New Jersey (Somerset), as well as most of our clients. We are also moving to Hillsborough in August 2006. However, you will be required to visit client sites located in the tri-state area. We have an immediate need for a full-time Associate Web Producer, who may be interested in joining our Interactive Team.

Our Producers are multi-talented and depending on their expertise, may be asked to be responsible for Business Analysis, Information Architecture, Project and Account Management, in addition to Content & HTML updating. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication abilities, including strong verbal and written skills, be self-motivated and have a firm understanding of and experience with web development processes. You would work with our Account Managers and Development Teams but report to the Interactive Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
? Meet with account manager, project manager, producers and clients, to fully understand client needs and offer creative suggestions.
? Research client companies and businesses to understand their target market and goals.
? Meet with clients and help them understand website design options and their accompanying pros and cons.
? Participate in requirements gathering and paper-prototyping sessions with producer and client, determining overall site navigation, requirements for each page and content placement.
? Document the above in a functional specification document, which includes a site map, wire frames and user requirements. Communicate with client to get questions answered.
? Work with design staff to help them understand the project, and ensure that home page and sub-page designs meet the specifications and also have a high level of usability.
? Create content inventories and use our custom content publishing tools to enter content on behalf of the client, which is often supplied by copywriters.
? Assist with creating project plans and keeping project schedules on track. Communicate with the client, the project team (designers, programmers and copywriters) on a regular basis to ensure they are fulfilling their obligations.
? Meet aggressive deadlines, even if requiring extended work hours.

You must:
? Understand Web navigation and usability best practices.
? Have strong knowledge of the web and be able to document client requirements and think about a web site as an application, not simply a group of static pages.
? Be comfortable with client interaction, helping to pull ideas from clients, as well as help them understand limitations.
? Be a self starter, have high standards, be able to work independently and on a team to meet deadlines, take instruction and work towards and offer options/solutions.
? Be able to anticipate and troubleshoot situations.
? Help prevent scope creep, by documenting change requests and future phases.
? Have experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio or SmartDraw. Macromedia Dreamweaver experience also helpful.

Helps if you have:
? Strong analytical skills and can design a database application (note that we are not looking for a graphic designer).
? Experience with project management and development of project schedules.
? An understanding of best practices for search engine optimization, relating to content and graphic placement.
? Familiarity with W3 standards and ADA compliance issues.
