Current TV and a top-tier broadband portal are getting ready to launch a premier online video network based on user-generated content.

 

We are looking for an internet savvy channel manager.  You need to be in tune with your demographic and be able to communicate effectively with our top-tier broadband portal partner to ensure the best possible management of internet traffic.  Top-notch communication skills are a must!  Do you have a blog, run a message board, or own a content site?  We want to see that you are in tune with the community you are responsible for, and that you have the background to show this through your web stats and the ad or sign up revenue you have generated.

Be prepared to discuss in detail your Auto knowledge and experience as well as your overall experience of running a successful internet community.  You need to be a hybrid - a net traffic expert that also has a good eye for automotive related content.

 

Prerequisites:

Deep passion and knowledge of all things Automotive.

You must possess an in depth understanding of broadband video& digital platforms and have significant experience in this area.

Be a visionary, who is willing to undertake a ?curator? type role to see their vision through to completion. 

You must be driven, talented, willing to ?role up your sleeves? and be involved in ALL aspects of launching this channel.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Develop the programming for a broadband video channel about all aspects of the automotive world.

Coordinate with the online team to ensure content is presented in the most user-friendly, unique and effective way as to lead to increased visitor attraction and retention.

Work with Current?s A+ television production teams to develop daily news features and other short-form video programming.

Work closely with expert community managers, online marketers, and a top tier broadband portal to inspire, cultivate and reward a large community of online viewers and producers.

Manage the screening of user-generated video submissions and green light the best submissions for broadband channel inclusion and possibly televised broadcast.

Evangelize the broadband channel concept with partner teams and develop opportunities for increased promotion, distribution, and sponsorship.

 

 

Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree required.

Minimum of 5 years experience in online media.

Minimum of 2 years experience in Web Content Management (experience with CMS is an asset).

Personnel management experience a must.

Strong knowledge and understanding of the web, digital production processes and digital platforms.

Be familiar with all dynamics of web-user interaction and be able to utilize this knowledge to create a visually and contextually appealing broadband channel.

Some experience in ?do-it-yourself? video production, especially producing, shooting, and editing preferred.

Excellent editorial, design and communication skills a must!

Knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Excellent understanding of usability standards, issues and user experience (UX) testing.

Strong organizational, presentation and client-management skills.

Entrepreneurial, energetic and prepared to drive traffic to this site!
