Business Analyst

Job Summary

 

This position identifies pharmaceutical business requirements, solicits and evaluates needs from business users, and translates those needs into enterprise-class functional software specifications.  This person will use analytical skills and initiative to seek solutions to complex industry systems and applications.  This person will develop, modify, and document business processes and systems, and help facilitate such processes and systems into pharmaceutical application software products. 

 

This person's combined business, technical and collaborative skills will be keys to working with business and technical resources to determine business application requirements and specifications. This person will also participate in application documentation, testing, training, and implementation.

 

Industry experience in pharmaceutical contract management software applications, particularly in the areas of claims validation, Medicaid dispute processing, member information maintenance, chargebacks, rebates and reporting, with data modeling, structured analysis, and process modeling tools skill sets are a strong plus.

 Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Product Management to lead customer advisory and review meetings.Create software specifications and wire frame mockups.Being responsible for producing project deliverables, such as, "As Is" and "To Be" flows, detailed requirements, design, and implementation guidesParticipate in the implementation of the requirements, including identifying, building and maintaining business rules.Work closely with Product Management and Quality Assurance to ensure requirements and testing plans are sufficient and understood by all parties.Collaborate with software engineering and technical writing resources on application design and documentationParticipate with quality assurance on the creation and execution of acceptance testing, and support impacted areas with rollout training.Acts as liaison for requirement clarification with software design and customers.Identify business process and system impacts of new releases and implementations; work as liaison to clarify and resolve issues that arise.

 Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Technology or Business Discipline or equivalent experience3-5 years of experience in business requirements and process analysis for enterprise-class softwareExperience in writing Application Use Cases/ Use Case EngineeringAble to design screen layouts, flow diagrams, and operating proceduresStrong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in understandable terms.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all management levels both inside and outside of the company.Strong communication skills; verbal, written, listening.Excellent analytical (business/systems) and problem solving skills.Able to learn new technology or functional areas quickly and thoroughlyAble to understand and clearly document complex business rules and logicAble to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and interrupt-driven environmentAble to produce professional looking documentationSelf-motivation, high attention to detail and strong analytical skillsIT experience in business system analysis in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and software platforms.Excellent PC skills - Windows environment (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), preferably with working knowledge of a database.
