Business Development Manager, BusinessWeek Online

BusinessWeek Online is seeking a talented Business Development Manager.


In this exciting role, you will be responsible for growing revenue through the development of new business opportunities via partnerships and maximizing revenue from the existing portfolio of partners for www.businessweek.com.  The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for contributing to the evolving online strategic plans, market intelligence, and supporting new product development efforts.

 

Accountabilities:

 

Identify and collaborate with the appropriate internal stakeholders to incubate new and significant revenue generating business opportunities via partnerships that provide existing and prospective customers (i.e. users and/or advertisers) of www.businessweek.com with valuable products, and services

 

Support the Director, Online Business Development and www.businessweek.com management to develop online strategies and long term tactical plans to grow revenue in targeted areas of opportunity

 

Coordinate with subject area experts (i.e. research, technology, ad sales, marketing, ad ops, editorial, finance) to monitor, analyze, and report on competitive activity, technological advances, global marketplace trends, new business models that present opportunities or pose threats to the business and its strategy

 

For select new product development initiatives, support product leaders to identify and enlist partnerships critical to the product launch

 

Represent BusinessWeek at relevant industry events and build network of business executive contacts to incubate potential new business opportunities


 



? 2+ years online partnership development, negotiations, and management experience required

? Innovative, flexible, self starter who enjoys working in a collaborative, result oriented environment

? Must be a strategic thinker and action oriented

? Prior contact with key industry players a plus

? Excellent presentation, client service, and communication skills required

? Solid understanding of emerging internet technologies, trends, and online business models

? Solid understanding of MS Office applications required

? Strong organizational and analytical skills required

?   Online marketing experience with a thorough understanding of direct marketing fundamentals

? P / (L) management a strong plus

? Technology project management experience a plus

? Product development and management experience a plus

? Experience with online media branding a plus

? College degree required
