Your tasks
The Application Developer provides high quality technological solutions that address business needs by developing and maintaining applications in COBOL, DB2 and CICS.

Understands business needs and suggests technological solutions to move the business forward
Performs analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation and documentation of projects
Provides estimates on projects to include high level requirements and level of effort required
Writes program specifications and assists peers with their development of applications if needed
Provides on-call (including off hour) assistance for production problems. May require a few days of travel annually
May lead small to medium sized projects within the Sr. Programmer Analyst's expert knowledge area.



Our requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Five (5) years current work experience in applications programming
Expert knowledge of mainframe skills including COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, Expeditor or other test tools
Quick and accurate problem solving skills
Excellent design, coding, testing and debugging skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of relational database structure
Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
Ability to work cohesively within a team environment in order to implement large projects successfully
Ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines
Oracle, Visual Basic.NET, AFP printing or Java experience an asset
Understanding of ESB/SOA technology a plus.
