Consortium Standards Architect and Evangelist

Position Objective

To support the development and implementation of Human Resource (HR) system interoperability standards through consultation, advocacy, maintenance, and education and training.

High-Level Requirements

1. Broad technical knowledge, plus strong persuasive, leadership, facilitation, and written and verbal communications skills.
2. Knowledge of data modelling and design to maximize efficiency and flexibility, while adhering to standard practices.
3. Ability to work and communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to define and meet standards needs and requirements.
4. Ability to work independently in an enterprising, entrepreneurial manner to support broad goals and strategy.
5. Travel domestically and internationally.

Workgroup and Project Support

1. Work within and across various HR business sub-domains on a variety of different assignments, including process modelling, data modelling, schema design, project consultations and technology evaluations. Assist with writing use cases that focus on the problem domain, using the terminology of the target audience.
2. As necessary, lead and /or coordinate with designated workgroup leaders, all the phases of standards development process.

Architecture and Evangelism

1. Participates in Consortium meeting planning in terms of technology topics and selection of breakout sessions to drive implementations in the industry.
2. Increases active participation in all Consortium member activities such as meetings, workgroup conference calls, webinars, and events through promotion and awareness of such.
3. Works with relevant Consortium committees, workgroups, and relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain key architectural documents -- design guidelines and best practice documents.
4. Maintains liaison with, and participate in, relevant standards organizations and projects.
5. Actively builds a network of expert resources. Leverage network of experts as a sounding board for Consortium design choices and as source for speakers at Consortium meetings.
6. Actively promotes (through the use articles, blog entries, webinars, and presentations) the Consortium's standards, current projects, and approaches both among Consortium members and externally.
7. Actively collects feedback on architectural design choices and challenges through regular interactions with Consortium members and external stakeholders.
8. Develops and regularly conducts training for members and stakeholders on the Consortium?s methodology, library of specifications, and implementation approaches.
9. Supports "train-the-trainer" programs and the development of training materials that might be used to reinforce methodology and architectural approaches within Chapter organizations and within other stakeholder organizations globally.
10. Develops and interprets UML class diagrams, use case diagrams, interaction diagrams (sequence, collaboration, and communication), and activity diagrams in support of Consortium projects. Develops and promotes conventions for diagrams and modelling.

Other Duties

1. Provide quality control and release planning and execution.
2. Help maintain the Consortium standards.
3. Provide routine maintenance/development services in support of Consortium websites.

Skills

1. Must speak, write, and read fluent English (other language proficiency is a plus).
2. Experience with in an HR-related field, such HRIS, employee benefits, recruiting, assessments, performance management, etc.
3. Knowledge of:
* XML schema design, XSLT, XPATH
* Web Services ("WS-*") Standards
* Service Oriented Architecture and SOA Governance
* Data Modeling Methodologies (e.g., Core Components, relational database design)
* Unified Modeling Language
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Programming experience (not a programming job, but some experience with a programming ? Java, C#, .NET, .ASP, .PHP, etc. ? is a plus).

Education
* Bachelors Degree
* Studies, training, or certification in computer or information sciences.
