About the Business Analyst

The Infospace Direct to Consumer (D2C) Business Analyst will be working on mission-critical software and systems development projects, for Infospace?s own consumer facing web and WAP sites. He/she will work with the product, legal, merchandising and marketing staff to facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, create use-case models and specifications, design and populate requirements documents, and manage full lifecycle change against requirements. This candidate MUST have experience gathering requirements for a complex, multi-phased consumer application development projects (i.e., web-based, and WAP-based systems). He/she MUST be hands on and detail oriented. He/she must have a take charge attitude. He/she must have the ability to work with mobile handsets. Should have strong communication and listening skills to interact with all levels of users and to facilitate meetings. The ideal candidate should experience working in a fast-paced consumer services driven environment and a strong interest in mobile technology.

Essential Job Duties

?Collect, review, analyze, evaluate and prioritize business, system and user requirements from internal program management and marketing/product staff
?Experience with the software development lifecycle
?Document business requirements and process flows
?Work with the technical lead and developers to translate requirements to system design
?Serve as a liaison to QA, create test plans, test cases and do functional testing as needed
?Serve as a liaison to other application development teams in planning, coordination, development and deployment of multi-team projects
?Establish scope, identify team, and initiate change control for duration of a project. Be responsible for a Requirements Management Process.
?Address issues, mitigate risks, communicate status to business sponsors, IT Management and other IT teams for a duration of project
?Re-platform and re-design existing business-to-business station website using content management and asset management technology
?Further streamline sales and marketing processes through the assessment/implementation of new technologies
?Manage the implementation process of getting new mobile handsets integrated into current environment
?Support day-to-day issues for maintenance, when required

Required Skills, Education & Experience

?Minimum 3-7 years of experience in overall business analysis for systems and software with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in gathering requirements for web application development projects.
?Extensive knowledge of the phases related to web-site development
?Understanding of web technology (ie .content management systems, portals, business intelligence tools)
?Nice to have: Knowledge of RUP business analysis methodology and software
?Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of technology
?Knowledge of UML is a plus
?Knowledge of relational databases concepts is a plus
?Sold business analysis skills.
?Extensive experience working with creative team and technical teams
?Strong analytical and problem solving skills
?Ability to multi-task several projects (i.e., a medium sized-project + maintenance tasks)
?Proven ability to get things accomplished by working with others - ability to empower the project team(s) to deliver
?People Skills: Proactive, sensitive and respectful of people, consultative, team focused, relationship management skills
?Strong written/verbal communication and presentation
?Ability to work in close collaboration with the project managers and business users to gather, analyze, and document the functional requirements.
?Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users and produce project documentation.
?Ability to document Use Cases, Business Rules, and User Interface specifications.
