Director, Photography & Content Services

GSI Commerce, a fast-growing leader in the e-commerce services industry, is seeking a Director of Studio and Content Services. This newly created position is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and extremely organized individual to step into a leadership role within our Marketing Services Department.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Services, this position is responsible for the creation of all product images and content for over 20 partner websites across various retail categories.

Responsibilities:
' Lead each of the 3 areas within the department:
Photography (photographers and studio space)
Production artists
Copywriters
' Provide leadership to the team of 25+ to deliver annualized volume of hundreds of thousands of product images and copy on time and on budget
' Represent the department inside the company with other directors, business managers and Vice Presidents
' Lead and participate in meetings with current clients and potential clients
' Lead this rapidly growing department for short term and long term growth including developing revenue, staffing and physical space projections

' 8+ years of increasing responsibility managing photographers, designers and copywriters
' Experience managing a high volume production environment while maintaining and constantly increasing quality & service levels.
' Working knowledge of:
o Studio photography (on and off model, room settings, etc.)
o Photo editing
o Content management systems and managing parametric data
o Rich media applications
' Highly organized; able to work in an extremely dynamic environment
' Excellent verbal and written communication skills
' Experience managing a complex production environment ' setting the direction, process and key milestones to ensure on-time delivery, within budget and of high quality
' Experience leading and developing a large team of 20+
' Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Highly motivated.
' Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Access is a plus
' Bachelor's degree in related field.
' Internet / ecommerce experience is a plus
