Director of Delivery Internet Applications

Fast growing, dynamic web development and internet software company with offices in New England, New York, Washington DC, and India has an immediate opening for a Director of Delivery in our mid-town Manhattan office.

 

Job Description

 

The Director of Delivery will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of custom web applications from concept to commercialization. He / she will: Direct the entire NY delivery team to deliver on spec, on time, and within budget; Manage billable resources to drive billable utilization metrics and an established web services gross profit margin; Have a strong working knowledge of ASP, .Net, SQL, COM, Java, HTML, and XML; Have strong communications skills, technical writing skills, customer presentation skills, proposal development skills, and strong leadership abilities; Monitor work flow and deadlines using MS Project; Track and report results and deliver projects to meet or beat customer expectations; Evaluate capital expenditures, revenue potential, and production methods for new projects; Identify new revenue opportunities within existing engagements or new opportunities within a customer organization.  

 

Responsibilities:Establish and maintain effective working relationships with delivery teams and individuals Assume overall P&L responsibility for the delivery team including scoping, budgeting, resource allocation, time management, contractor oversight, revenue recognition, change order implementation, etc Develop detailed requirements, technical scope and specification documents as well as overall budgets for specific customer engagements Monitor work flow and deadlines. Track and report results, and continue to oversee projects to meet or beat customer expectations.Monitor and track resource allocation to assure staff is optimally utilized and customers are satisfied with the delivery progressReview and update revenue forecasts.  Identify significant revenue recognition forecast changes proactively.  Identify and resolve issues, risks, and other considerations related to the delivery of products and services.Develop, maintain, and support customer relationships at both a strategic and tactical levelActively participate and oversee customer engagements as required.Provide customers with timely information on new technology, tools and initiatives and seek additional revenue opportunities in existing or new projectsSupport Sales by assisting in proposal writing and presentations as necessary. 

 Requirements

 Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experienceMinimum  7 years of related experience in managing delivery teams  Minimum  5 years hands on project management experience Minimum  5 years of external client facing management experience with primary accountability for peer-level client relationships (preferably at the executive level)Minimum 5 years experience with ASP, .Net, COM, and SQL technologiesStrong skills in designing and architecting Web-based solutions

? Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Excel (in addition to proficiency in standard MS Office programs.)  Exceptional interpersonal written and oral communication skillsStrong mentoring skills  Ability to deliver presentations and lead group meetings at the Executive levelPrevious experience in an internet development or consulting organization is a strong plus Work experience with offshore teams is preferableFinancial services experience is a plus
