EDITOR

MyFamily.com, the leading online network connecting families to their histories and to each other, is experiencing rapid growth and we are looking to hire an EDITOR.  This is a pivotal role at MyFamily.com, Inc. 

 

About the opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated editor who can create and edit clear, accurate, and interesting text for newsletters, magazines, and company websites. He or she must demonstrate organizational skills and have the ability to coordinate multiple projects at the same time. The ideal candidate will be deadline-driven, detail-oriented, a self-starter, and a team player. 

 

Key Responsibilities/Performance Requirements: Create a monthly customer newsletter.Create and organize content for company websites.Copy edit and proof magazines and write articles as necessary.Additional responsibilities may include editing other company newsletters, putting magazine articles online, and typesetting books.

 

Required Skills:

? 3+ years editing experience

? BA/BS in English, journalism, communications, or related field

? Excellent written and verbal skills

? Desktop publishing familiarity: InDesign, Quark, PhotoShop in Mac OS X environment

? Some magazine experience

? Basic HTML skills

? Ability to work collaboratively in a group setting

? Genealogy background a plus
