Ecommerce Manager

GSI Commerce provides an e-commerce solution enabling retailers, branded manufacturers, entertainment companies and professional sports organizations to operate e-commerce businesses. The company's e-commerce solution includes Web site design and development, e-commerce technology, managed hosting, order fulfillment, customer service, merchandising and order management, online merchandising, customer relationship management, content development and online marketing. The company operates either all or a portion of the e-commerce businesses for approximately 45 partners. GSI Commerce trades on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the symbol, GSIC.

The E-Commerce Manager is a core member and key contributor in GSI's General & Specialty Business Management(G&S)group. The G&S group owns those GSI partners that fall into the Apparel, Home, Consumer Electronics, and Media verticals ' essentially GSI's entire non-Sporting Goods business. This group has P&L responsibility for each e-commerce business and manages the businesses on both a strategic and day-to-day basis. This group serves as the face of GSI to our partners. The members of the G&SM team work internally across our technology team, partner services organization (design services, product management, interactive marketing agency, and customer effectiveness groups), and operations groups (call center and fulfillment centers) to drive our partners businesses and expand the overall GSI platform.
The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for one or more e-commerce businesses. Their goal is to manage overall partners relationships, grow their e-commerce businesses aggressively and profitably, and support webstore site operations. This individual will manage every aspect of the business. They possess an in-depth knowledge of (1) their partner's business, (2) GSI's platform, and (3) overall e-commerce space.

The E-Commerce Manager adds value to GSI and its partners by:

Manage partner relationship ' Become an extension of the partner's business. Successfully manage all aspects of partner relationship including managing and setting expectations, communication status, building and developing key relationship at partner.

P&L Owner ' Manage P&L for e-commerce business. Achieve sales, contribution, and stretch business goals and objectives.

Manage partner business ' Provide regular updates both internally and externally on the state of the business. Conduct quarterly business reviews with the partner.

Strategic Planning ' Establish process for working with partner to define goals/objectives and assign accountability/timelines for aggressively/profitably growing the business.

Develop business opportunities ' Successful create and implement key business opportunities and new capabilities to grow partner businesses and GSI platform.

People Management ' Lead team in support of partner business. Work effectively across organization as a partner advocate.

Project Management ' Successfully bring initiatives to completion on strategy, on budget, and on time.

The successful E-Commerce Manager will have the following attributes:

10-15 years professional experience.

Deep retail experience, knowledge, and expertise.

Strong knowledge in the apparel, media, home, and/or consumer electronics space.

Significant e-commerce experience.

Strong client relationship experience in a client-facing role.

Strong business development and solution selling skills.

Strong C-level communication skills.

Proven success in developing and presenting (and winning) strategic recommendations to senior-level client management.

Proven track record of developing people and staff management.

Exceptional problem solving, business analysis, and quantitative skills. Capable of proactive efforts in seeking solutions to problems.

Demonstrated ability to exceed client expectations and incorporate urgency and strong service ethic into all aspects of the job.

Strong project management skills.

MBA preferred.
