Localization Specialist, Technical (Temporary) - Mountain View

We are looking for talented Localization Specialists to manage the technical aspects of delivering Google's localized products across the globe. Come join an exciting and stimulating environment where you can make an impact on the world.
We are looking for contract specialists to work as part of our localization team to deliver Google's products in over 100 different languages.

Responsibilities:

Manage internal translation memory.
Assist with the integration of translation memory and existing internal tools.
Utilize tools to identify, prepare and manage localizable content for translation.
Develop, document and implement new tools and processes to meet Google's internal localization needs (including automation).
Drive pseudo-localization process across all Google products.
Adapt and manage QA scripts for linguistic QA.
Troubleshoot localized builds.
Manage linguistic QA bug tracking and fixing.
Contribute to the development and implementation of globalization and localizability guidelines and checklists for developing products.
Provide general technical support for localization team.

Requirements:

BS Computer Science or related technical degree required.
Good knowledge of C/C++ and/or Java.
Programming experience with Python and/or Perl.
Ability to write SQL queries, program VBA.
Excellent knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
Hands-on experience using translation memory systems: Trados, Catalyst, Idiom.
Ability to interpret and edit markup languages (HTML, XML) style sheets and transforms.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Fluency in a second language a plus.
