Google: Technology Program Manager - Mountain View

Technology Program Manager - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

You will be responsible for managing programs involving cross-functional teams focusing on launching new products and services. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and drive initial partner deployments. You will be the vertical expert in this new technology area and drive architectural design for partner systems and define
technical partner engagement processes.

Your thorough understanding of the software development process (functional specification, system/architectural design, development, configuration, testing, and deployment) is crucial in identifying and mitigating risks early in the product life cycle and ensuring successful pilot product launches. You will also make sure that the proper training and documentation is in place for a wide-scale deployment of the new product and service. You will develop and deliver training to the Partner Solutions Organization group and other functional groups.

You must be able coordinate between teams of technical resources and business stakeholders and have a thorough command of the technologies, systems, and processes that will be used in achieving project objectives. You will primarily interface with the product development teams, business teams and early adopter partners to ensure the successful delivery of new business and services, Maturity, good judgment, negotiation skills, influence skills, analytical skills, leadership skills and hands-on technical skills are critical to the successful management of these programs.

Requirements:Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree required. MBA/MSCS is a plus.
10 years of high-tech industry experience with track records of hands-on software development on the Windows or Unix/Linux environment.
5 years experience in program management, product management, professional services, or engineering management.
Expertise in any of these industries is a big plus: Search Engine, Internet Advertisement, Wireless/Mobile, Video, and Financial Services.
Strong understanding of HTML, Javascript, Internet architecture, Networking technology, XML web services, or Windows client application technology.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes and operations planning.
High energy, strong team player, creative thinker and strategic influencer.
Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams.
Financial modeling or business forecasting experience is a plus.
